The Vaad Harabonim of MetroWest was founded over 30 years ago to unite the local Orthodox rabbis who shared a vision of a Jewish community devoted to Shemiras Hamitzvos, Mitzvah observance. Since then the Vaad has grown to serve the many Jewish communities in the MetroWest, NJ region including Livingston, Short Hills, Springfield, and West Orange.
The Vaad certifies a growing number of kosher establishments in the area and meets regularly to jointly work on issues that are important to the entire Jewish community. The Vaad is a not-for-profit organization with its Member Rabonim serving on a voluntary basis.

Rabbi Yakov Teichman
Rabbinic Administrator
Rabbi Yakov Teichman received his Smicha (Rabbinical ordination) from Beth Medrash Govoha of Lakewood, NJ, where he studied for close to 10 years. A native of Los Angeles, he also studied in the Yeshiva of Philadelphia, where he developed a close relationship with Rav Shmuel Kamenetsky Shlit"a and Rav Elya Svei Zt"l, and in Yeshivas Brisk- under Rav Dovid Soloveitchik Shlit"a.
Rabbi Teichman grew up in the world of kashrus; he is the son of Rabbi Avrohom Teichman, the founder and director of Kehilla Kosher, an internationally renowned hashgacha. Both informally- and later formally- as an active participant and employee of Kehilla Kosher, he has absorbed the intricacies of kashrus from the inside track.
To complete his formal training, and to adequately prepare himself for a career in Kashrus, Rabbi Teichman received extensive training from the Orthodox Union (OU Kashrus Internship Program) and the Chicago Rabbinical Council (cRc).
We welcome Rabbi Teichman as our Rabbinic Administrator and feel confident that he will benefit our organization with his professionalism and expertise.
To contact Rabbi Teichman with any questions or concerns you may have, please see contact details on the left.
